Community Stabilization & Local Governance – Iraq & Syria

Local governance assessment and stabilization support across conflict-affected communities in Iraq and Syria.

Local governance and stabilization program research.

This project focused on evaluating and strengthening local governance and social cohesion mechanisms in communities affected by conflict in Iraq and Syria.

The team conducted field research, community consultations, and institutional assessments to examine how local councils function, how communities manage service delivery, and what gaps hinder stabilization.

Findings were used by UN agencies and development partners to improve program alignment, enhance local capacities, and ensure stabilization and recovery efforts addressed real community needs.
