Governance & Political Economy Analysis – Syria
Governance and political economy analysis providing evidence-based insights for donor strategy and decision-making in Syria.

This project delivered an in-depth political economy analysis of governance structures and local power dynamics inside Syria. The assessment examined formal and informal institutions, conflict actors, resource flows, and community-level governance arrangements.
Working with field researchers and regional experts, the study mapped stakeholder interests, institutional weaknesses, and opportunities for constructive engagement. The findings supported donor decision-making by highlighting realistic entry points for governance programming, risk mitigation strategies, and evidence-based policy options.
The project’s final report informed both strategic planning and operational adjustments for international development partners working in highly fluid and politically sensitive environments.
